John Keith Lecture
Since Dr Keith's lecture within the annual Canadian Cardiovascular
Society meeting in1967, it became a tradition to invite prestigious
lecture to share their experiences, vison and contribution in the
field of Pediatric Cardiology. This lecture is perpetuating Dr Keith's
passion for teaching. More than 100 fellows trained under his direction
and many of them still contribute to the patients care and also
participate to teaching and research in many different University
Hospitals not only in different regions of Canada but elsewhere
in the world. His work, associated with the works of other pioneers
of his time, changed dramatically the diagnosis and therapeutic
approaches of many different heart defects in children and opened
new perspectives that led to the modern practice of Pediatric Cardiology.
Each year the Canadian Pediatric Cardiology Association is proud
to participate with
Heart and Stroke Foundation in the organisation of the John Keith
Lecture. This event is an occasion to remember his major contribution
to the Canadian Society as well as to maintain our international
reputation as he did.
